Helping Adults Persist

During the Adult Student Persistence Study, researchers interviewed Pre-GED students to find out what supported or hindered their persistence in adult basic education programs. Researchers identified four supports to persistence—management of positive and negative forces, establishment of a goal by students, progress toward reaching a goal, and building self-efficacy.

Read how the research study was conducted, learn more about the four supports to persistence, and review the definition of persistence.
