Adult Development

This study circle addresses Robert Kegan’s work in adult development theory and its application in the practice of adult basic education. The focus is on the three ways of knowing—Instrumental, Socializing, and Self-authoring—that adult learners use, and how teachers can support those learners through instructional methods and other student supports.
